KATJES

Katjes is one of Germany’s most popular sweets and candy brands, continually delighting the world with innovative new products, and setting new standards in sustainability.

Our role was to overhaul their digital experience and create a modular system  to elevate their identity, strengthen their connection to customers, grow their direct-to-consumer revenue, and reflect the detail and craft they put into their products.

Katjes is a fun-loving brand. Whether in advertising, at trade fairs or in production: Katjes is always an experience. To elevate the playful component of the brand in digital I chose a dynamic grid which helped the users discover more of the contents since the page looks like a news feed.

Katjes only uses high-quality, natural raw ingredients for their products. They source them as locally as possible. And yes, they’re 100% plant-based. Since there are 20 different Katjes products, I wanted to visually differntiate them by using different background colors, because each product has its own story. The user is able to discover the story of the products progressively by scrolling, simulating the real-life experience of opening a package and enjoying the candies inside.

Chocjes is the first vegan chocolate by Katjes. With Chocjes, Katjes offers a guarantee of sustainability: the chocolate contains organic oat drink, UTZ cocoa and UTZ hazelnuts. In terms of environmental compatibility and sustainability, oat drinks are superior to other plant-based milk alternatives such as soy and almond drinks.
